Choosing Cloudflare as hosting provider is madness. This should be denounced.
Agree completely. And the big names use them. Damus, Wine, Primal. All Cloudflare. I was surprised the distribution on the bottom end though. Quite good.
Quitting Cloudflare before Amazon for privacy is like quitting natgas before coal for carbon emissions.
But I agree that all big corporate hosting providers should be avoided. If they weren't collaborating in warrantless mass surveillance, they wouldn't still be in business.
💯💯 Nostr should be self hosted IMO. Largely at least.

Agree. I was scanning nostr.watch to sniff through host distribution. Noticed quite a bit of centralization so wanted to see the whole picture. Ya. There's pretty good distribution on the bottom end aside from a few big names.
According to my data, massive transition to Cloudflare began around a year ago. But that should be fine, I think you can keep your relays anywhere and put it behind Cloudflare.

Ya if Cloudflare gets attacked there's plenty of decentralization to pick up the slack. Great work man.
