Complacency is something that bugs me the most and yet I genuinely don't know how to shake people out of it.

Also, that being said, I don't think that somebody can be generally shaken out of complacency. They have to want to break free of that, so to speak, on their own. Definitely a lead a horse to water type problem.

A farmer is sitting on his porch in a chair, hanging out.

A friend walks up to the porch to say hello, and hears an awful yelping, squealing sound coming from inside the house.
