What’s the most interesting thing you’ve ever brought up magnet fishing? I recently got the setup but haven’t been able to try it out yet! I imagine I’ll get quite the collection of fishing lures!

We’ve only done a couple outings. So far just nails, part of a bike, a few lures and an 80lb high carbon steel grader blade edge. That was hard to haul up. Definitely both needed gloves. Still hoping to find that elusive pistol or knives.

The next step that would be cool is underwater metal detectors and snorkeling gear. There’s a waterproof wide angle unit and a wand type directional detector you can use after you get your initial “hit” that I’ve been seeing videos of. Guys are picking up jewelry and other stuff at highly frequented beach spots. Might be a fun retirement hobby.
