I like your Rubik's cube analogy with a little tweak.

We're basically discovering bitcoin's potential by adding accessories until they stick,

Kinda like having to discover one side of a Rubik's cube just to see the other needs solving, until it's "finished".

In this case it might be an infinitely impossible to finish cube, but every step takes us further/closer.
