There are elements here who want to centralize and censor too. Is it like trading dollars for bitcoin or for some shitcoin?

I see plenty of people happy to turn it into a shitcoin.

There's always going to be some level of centralization and censorship. That isn't stopping Nostr from already being a better alternative.

I tend to think this is right, but we’ll find out. If the ethos is too much about “safety” or “growth” and short-sighted busybodies get their way, it could be a dead end.

Think it’s a bit like the block size wars for bitcoin in that way — a free speech ethos has to trump premature optimization for user comfort.

Still remains to be determined.
