Thanks. I read your article. Couple of noob questions:

1). Does running a node assume you are on a VPN?

2) In the event of a government crackdown on, say, running a node and using Bitcoin, what are your options? Flee to El Salvador or a friendly jurisdiction and try to spend Bitcoin or convert to fiat to live on?

Far out, but I wonder about that scenario.

1) Depends which client your are using to run your node. Umbrella for example runs on TOR.

2) It’s very hard to crack down on #Bitcoin nodes bc people/gov has to enter your house and crack down on your node physically.

How do they know you are running a node in the first place and how are they going to find your node?

I mean we are imagine truly unbelievable times and yea if the gov is entering my home and searching for a node, I am definitely moving out of Europe.

If governments can read everything on your phone, including your location, I assume they can track a node back to you.
