Thanks. I read your article. Couple of noob questions:
1). Does running a node assume you are on a VPN?
2) In the event of a government crackdown on, say, running a node and using Bitcoin, what are your options? Flee to El Salvador or a friendly jurisdiction and try to spend Bitcoin or convert to fiat to live on?
Far out, but I wonder about that scenario.
1) Depends which client your are using to run your node. Umbrella for example runs on TOR.
2) It’s very hard to crack down on #Bitcoin nodes bc people/gov has to enter your house and crack down on your node physically.
How do they know you are running a node in the first place and how are they going to find your node?
I mean we are imagine truly unbelievable times and yea if the gov is entering my home and searching for a node, I am definitely moving out of Europe.
If governments can read everything on your phone, including your location, I assume they can track a node back to you.
