1. Everyone who is on the app stays. We already downloaded it.

2. Headlines read Apple Removes Damus. Free Advertising l

3. More people weigh in on the topic.

4. Free publicity.

5. App Store Policy becomes more polarized negatively in the eyes of the normies.

The fact is we have no lawyers, no funds to fight this. But the headlines is where our power is pushed.

Short term it would effect new Damus onboarding temporarily… that’s it.

Not a bad strategy actually. In this case we are the ‘little guy’. Another option could be ask Apple for nuances:

1. If Damus did say 30% of zaps did go to Apple but in that case, Apple would be paid in sats and would need to have LN acct as Damus is not in business of selling sats. Eg if you ask a squirrel 30% of what he got, it will give you nuts as it’s not in business of selling them

2. Ask how Apple treats Reddit flairs, badges and moons each time they are given out. This do have monetary value and similar to people giving each other those.

Either we get Apple and the courts to confirm Lightning is a viable payment method (by us losing), or we accept their terms and pay them in sats, which would require them to create a wallet, infrastructure, etc..
