#Android and #Apple have always done funny things with each other (against each other?)

One problem I cannot wrap my brain around is when an iPhone user posts a video and I view it in the #Amethyst feed. My 'night light' setting in Android is temporarily disabled when the video is presently on the screen. It reverts when scrolling away.

The android settings insist 'this feature will never be disabled' which is very promising. I have only ever experienced this in Amethyst which makes me genuinely curious what could possibly be causing the issue.

Where is Claude when you need him?

Why does Apple want to rape my eyes?

How many years until a second user discovers this issue? 😭

That's probably your phone manufacturer's option. Amethyst sets the "keep the phone awake" to avoid screen locking by lack of activity when watching a video. Some other apps do the same, but we do it during the school. Then some manufacturers can also disable night light when the keep phone awake option is on :(

screen timeout, 120s. nobody watches longer than that anyway 😁

background audio tho, that would be really nice

i was wondering what the deal with this kind of stuff is, sad to hear it's still stuck in some hacky world of awake/sleep battles

The videos could be HDR. HDR & night light can conflict with each other.

that's what i was thinking at first
