How easy is it for you to have consistent time away from any devices in your day?

I try but I never succeed lol 🤣

it's good to be honest and able to laugh at yourself. we are all quite addicted to our devices. addictions are not necessarily easy to break.

Facts ✨

Very difficult. Requires a conscious and significant lifestyle change

is that something you'd like to become easier for you? what benefit would you be seeking/seeing in that and lifestyle change?

Yeah ofc. Less time wasted. Less over stimulation. Less negative side effects of blue light. Better sleep etc etc.

That's not a thing I try to do.

you are satisfied with that and not interested or?

Yeah, satisfied and not interested in doing something differently.

Easy. I leave everything on silent and do not disturb. Both the device and all the apps on it. My big hitter is listening to podcasts and audiobooks but I don’t really see that any different than constantly having my nose in a book which is what I did before I had devices. Listening might even be better because I’m doing other things while I listen.

yeah, that counted in my question. I am also a bit of an information junkie and listening to something quite often.

Don’t get me wrong devices make it easier so more people do it but if all this stuff hadn’t been invented I’d still be inclined to read a book over interacting with people most of the time. In that respect I think I might interact with people more now that I can do so from in the backyard or wherever without actually having to go to where they are which I’ve never been inclined to do and I only got a smart phone 10 years ago when I was 27.

I make a point to be without my device, and/or out of cell phone reception on all of my best days.

How many best days on average would you say you register a month?

If we are talking about 1-2hr stints, I’m doing that daily without my device. I spent weeks at a time off the grid this summer and it was glorious. If it weren’t for bitcoin/Nostr I would have few digital connections.

How about you?

that's awesome! congrats! I've had those times and it is indeed divine. I definitely get time disconnected though thinking not enough the last few months.

It’s easiest when I spend time with loved ones

It's not easy at all. Since going nostr only I'm distracted a lot less 😅. But due to work it's usually at hand during weekdays.

I've finally setup schedules in the last couple days yo enable do not disturb on evenings and weekends so I don't see anything at all come in unless it's a call. This seems to work great and easy to disable for a few minutes when I have time to catch up to whatever notifications are there.

Plebs say Nostr helps but it hasn't helped me, now I just read the same things over and over 🫡🤣
