I'm a Product guy. I think about products and features all day, every day.

To this day, the single best product I've ever experienced was the Nintendo Light Gun. Pure magic. To this day I have no idea how it worked. And here's the thing, I don't want to know. I still feel the magic. (So don't ruin it for me, nerds.)

The best thing about this gun was playing Duck Hunt with a friend and using the controller to control the ducks. Most people didn't know you could do that 🤣🤣🤣

What!

🤯🤯

The “add 30 seconds” button gets negated because of the “reheat” button which asks you to fill out a questionnaire after you press it.

You're not wrong.

Duck hunt 🦆🦆

"When the trigger on the Zapper is pressed, the game causes the entire screen to become black for one frame. Then, on the next frame, all valid targets that are on screen are drawn all white as the rest of the screen remains black. The Zapper detects this change in light level and determines if any of the targets are in its hit zone. If a target is hit, the game determines which one was hit based on the time of the flash, as each target flashes for one video frame, one after another.[24][25][26]

This darkness/brightness sequence prevents the possible issue caused by pointing the Zapper right next to or into a light bulb.[26][27][28] Older light guns did not use this method, making it possible to cheat and get a perfect hit score in a way not possible using the NES Zapper.[citation needed]

The NES Zapper can only be used on CRT displays; it will not work on LCDs, plasma displays or other flat panel displays due to display lag."

Incredibru.

I know what you are doing here, Matt. I'm not going to read this.

Stay strong

The snooze button is the worst innovation

Psyop for sure.

It has objectively made all of our lives worse.

So Apple's Head Tracking Spacialized Stereo is friggin' voodoo too. I get right to left, but this magic moves sound front to back.

Plumb evades me... And I love it.
