"it's more error than malice"
someone I know is constantly complaining about the stupid power struggles in goverment. to the point of big bosses making underlings who threaten their position do stupid stuff.
These are the guys that are supposed to be taking over the world, and they think that they are flexing by having an underling attend a meeting on a Monday, or submit itemized receipts for a business trip instead of just giving them a daily amount.
I had a "hard faced" boss once who made me cry so many times. I had to be at work before she got there, and she would come around to my cube and pick apart the last email I sent or my latest failures. She was like Ellen Degeneres version of Miranda Priestly from Devil wears Prada.
She actually did me a huge favor. 1 year of Liz's bootcamp trained me for the world. I left on good term. mutal respect.
