I heard from many ppl (non-nostriches) that if I go to Costa Rica itโs not safe to leave the resort/hotel.
What are your views on this?

There is a risk to going anywhere. I would rather risk Costa Rica than parts of Detroit.
Exactly, thatโs why I am asking to hear from ppl who visited or lived there. I heard the same about other places Iโve been to already and for me personally it was ok.

I want to visit Brazil some day ๐ good to know. There are a lot of places I havenโt been to in this side of the world
Really, I have heard the opposite. Of course remember to be cautious and take care of your belongings, and donโt walk alone during the night.
I know multiple people who have been there, and they say itโs usually safe ๐ซ
Also, I think this will depend on what places you want to visit
Same thing can be said about Miami, thereโs sketchy parts in EVERY place in this world.. just donโt go there.. be mindful of the choices you make in an unknown place, like donโt stay out too late or go where thereโs no people & itโs dark etc
I rented a car and drove from Santa Teresa to Samara and Nosara by myself and it was a couple hundred miles of good road, surfing, yoga and seeing friends (but even on this trip, when Iโm traveling by myself I donโt go out after dark. I stay at hotel and swim, like Iโm doing rn).
Evenings well spent. Nothing would feel better than swimming for me. Enjoy ๐
