On Nostr, no. In society, yes.

Nostr is a great space. Awesome people on here

Yes and no

Tell me more!

It is lonely because it takes a while to realize that most people, especially those you care for the most, are not predisposed to see the transformational power of bitcoin and, at best, they will buy some bitcoin at your recommendation. They do not, however, gain conviction because they do not find it in themselves to do the work. It get’s lonely because you get frustrated that the great majority of people do not “get it” as the fiat world burns around them.

On the other hand it is not lonely because a) you find a community online who is as passionate as you are on the subject, b)there are tremendous learning resources available in the form of books, podcasts, social media channels, and c) you slowly develop what may amount to a handful or two of close friends that take the bitcoin journey with you.

in 2024 you don't have to make the journey alone, so no

What would you say is the best place to spend time with bitcoiners?

I think most people would say local meetups and conferences

Entirely

What’s your experience been like?

I’ve made some awesome connections through bitcoin. Even through Nostr! I wouldn’t say it’s lonely - challenging and rewarding.

Yeah, there are good days and bad days

Don’t let it get you down. 💜

Hoping today is a better day for you! 💜

Today is definitely better. How about you?

I’ve been down with a head cold and am so excited to have slept through the night! Glad to hear your having a better day - let’s connect and game sometime!

Sorry about the cold. How are you feeling now? Sure! We should game one of these days

Yes, It is. It's like a constant pendulum shifting from:

"Please listen to what I have to say, change the perspective.."

to

"..if you don't care or don't have time even to listen, then GFY."

You described it perfectly. There are good days and bad days.

Indeed they are.. 🍀🫂☯️

But we keep focusing on the good days 🧡😊

#YESTR 😁🤙💜🍀

Yes, because my wife and close friends don't get it and you can't really tell people you don't trust well and you don't really want to advertise too widely because you risk your opsec. Most people are in it for the NGU which is pretty boring, but when you find someone who gets it it's precious.

Ditto. Right there with you. People that haven't done the hundreds+ hours of research to understand beyond the old mainstream narratives often judge you or look down their nose at you; can be a very isolating feeling on the receiving end of the condescending attitude. Often made by others to feel like you are stupid and/or hiding a dirty little secret. But all they can do is parrot the mainstream narratives "scams, ponzis, bad for the environment, just NGU speculators,...blah blah blah." I feel like I'm trying to help them better understand a complex and revolutionary technology they don't want to put in the effort to understand. Has reinforced for me that you can't make people learn or change if they don't want to.

It's only lonely when your on the outside looking In lol.

Life is a lonely journey. Being a bitcoiner gives me hope that one day the world wont be such a shitty place.

Internally to the community, nope. Quite the opposite.

Externally? Deeply

I only see this accelerating

Your post is generating a lot of interest.
