maybe i just like flashy expensive yearly fiat payments but I do enjoy my root domain as identifier... The one time fee, if hosted for multiple year's isn't super crazy... Sat is a sat but fiat conversion has change since those prices were set.

The conversion to fiat has changed it is true, but the only argument I have found is to fight bots and spam.

So 100 sats would be enough, right?

If one day there is a mass adoption, maybe 100 sats is a lot of money 🤣🤣

weird position to be in because I’m kinda against it, playing devils advocate and showing some love to those who run them. Most probably don’t need it… I probably don’t… it’s useful if you’re at an organization and can prove affiliation, or work on a certain project. I guess my domain proves I’m that guy from SoundCloud and there is some link loop through my socials that’s consistent. But mostly I enjoy the exploit of .net to express my old twitter handle. There are those giving them away for free.

I understand the convenience… and for plebs to find other plebs is nice, I think it’s scared off a bunch of normies, that are now on bluesky using root domains and sub domains as their identifiers… even seen nostr people over there surprised when I explain that we can do this here.

O the other hand, nice to meet you 😀
