I really hope that we someday see some real competitors rise up so that we don't all have to intentionally allow ourselves to be screwed over by these car manufacturers. I don't need a smart car. I just want a regular car.

All I need it to do is to allow me to get from one place to another. I don't need it up to have all of these other features built in. If I want that, I can build something for myself.

It will never happen. Once things get tech, they never go back. Automated driving is more likely than a reversal to a dumb car.

i disagree, some things were just dumb ideas... i think that self driving cars is going to be a collossal disaster once something bad happens

the game Deus Ex: Mankind Divided contains a story involving this happening with cybernetic augmentations and then a critical component common to all of the implants is hacked and millions of people are killed by cybernetic implants gone mad
