If privacy isn't a main goal, as it usually is with tails, MX Linux is a good one to try. It's light for running on a wide variety of hardware, and has some usb tools built in.

Thanks. This sounds very interesting and I will check this one out. I ran MX Linux on my old laptop but didn't know they have a USB version.

Yes you can do all that with mx linux and more.

But why don't you install a distro on a stick? Instead of a typical hard drive, use a usb stick.

Very interesting. I will also have a look at this great recommendation. Thanks.

I even have freedombox installed on a usb stick...

Never heard about freedombox. Checking freedombox.org right now.

Yeah, if you wany any of these or all of these https://freedombox.org/apps/ then freedombox is convenient. You can do it with plain debian of course, freedombox use what already exists on debian, but as a pure blend (there are others too) it focuses on that.

MX is great for older hardware. It keeps my 11 year old MacBook useful 🤙
