Everything okay with British Banks today?

Most major brands having online and payment problems... at the same time. Old school like Barclays and HSBC, challengers like Revolut, all throwing a wobbly.

Supermarkets locally still accepting cash, but I can't find any decent information otherwise. NPC panic level is moderate, not yet violence for toilet paper, but it's all a bit strange.

Interesting. The grocery store here in Annapolis, MD was not allowing customers to get cash at the register on debit card payments because of a power outage the night before. Something is afoot. Is this debt bubble starting to crack?

Wife just had an issue sending Apple Cash via debit card (sender and recipient both in U.S.). Could be unrelated, but suspicious timing.

Anyone know anything? I've not been to the shops today - standard typical outage, or something a bit more annoying?

Interesting.

Supermarket brand giant Sainsbury's had major outage nationwide, due to messed up software overnight. Online orders placed and paid for were also lost.

"The shop is in absolute chaos, cash only, no contactless, chip and pin intermittent, no self-checkout without cash, cash machines not working, horrendous queues at checkout."

Saturday morning shoppers panic as unable to pay for their trolleys or withdraw cash from Sainsbury's cash machines or fill petrol from Sainsbury's pumps.

Panic extrapolates, everyone assuming their bank is the problem, so spike in reports on down detector, of visa, masterccard and major bank being down .

In terms of the national psyche, we're all on edge, primed and waiting for the meltdown. Something as simple as a beloved supermarket chain having trouble accepting your money becomes a spark that lights up the forest.

Oh well, off to Lidl 😂
