Is Zap-vertising effective on Nostr?

And is bringing advertising $$$ to Nostr a potential catalyst for network growth?

Advertising $$$ —> More creator compensation —> more creators —> more users —> network growth? 🤔🤔🤔

I’ve found myself spending most of my thinking power concentrated on Nostr recently.

Feeling like a kid in a candy store on here with all of the possible things to build.

I wanted to get an experiment up quickly to get my wheels turning…

So here’s my simple experiment to kick things off:

I’m going to spend 500,000 sats in the next week, using the zapvertising model, measure the results, and provide updates here…

Tracking new followers, cost per follow, and eventually website clicks, email opt-ins, cost per click, etc.

What I’m looking to answer:

Can "zapvertising" become a viable model?
