Not much use for serious prying, but for small things that you might find yourself tempted to use your knife for, it's great. So it's basically just an insurance policy to keep you from breaking your knife tip.

I'm a woodworker, so it mainly gets used for opening paint cans. Surprisingly useful for scraping as well.
