Lightning is great (we are lightning-first since 2019) but it is not the perfect solution for every use case. And as of now it has a much higher mainchain footprint than necessary which is an issue whenever miner fees spike. That's what this note was about. I know how to use liquid but as a regular pleb, lightning is sufficient for now. For your swap to work, you still have to convince someone to hold liquid. The only problem is Liquid =! #bitcoin

The trade-offs don't work for everyone, agreed. Having a variety of choices is what is important

You can also do without Lighting and use Liquid (low tansaction fees, offline keys, no opening/forced closure fees, no need to be online to receive) and Boltz to pay LN invoices.

If you can't afford on-chain fees and want better than custodial lightning providers, Liquid is it.
