Always loved that intro too. Ironically it’s what made me take him more seriously — because I could tell he really just wanted to show me something, to share it, rather than convert me to a specific ideology.

I remember trying to explain this as a speech in my communications class around my first semester of college. She gave me a B+, just didn’t quite understand the premises. Then I dropped out. Grades and the opinions of teachers are so subjective, even most of the physicists and computer scientists are biased in what they teach or admire. So much more fun to explore with the internet, it’s like the universe is in your palm.

Funny how that hit us both in the same way. It's such a subtle gesture for a speaker to frame a proposition that way, it instantly makes the listener feel respected and at ease.
