As someone else mentioned, I don't need to copy someone else's blocklist. I don't need someone else deciding for me what I can and can't see. I shouldn't have to follow someone to see what they're saying just because randomuser123 and his friends decided they're spam.

It really goes to show that you can make a network as "censorship resistant" as you like, but in the end, it's always just a different brand of censorship with different mental gymnastics to justify it.
Really it's a problem with the people who use it and their expectations. The pack of normies is full of faulty assumptions and bad demands based on them. And then, since there's so very many, it creates a false sense of what they should do. Developers listening to these people cater to the pack of locusts that will ultimately strip their fields bare and then move on to the next one.

It's not a random user. It's 5 people you follow directly (and thus should know really well).
needing 5 people to stop spam is not effective, you should make it customizable or reduce to 1, you do something like minimize on 1 to 5 reports, hide on more than 5, customizable display would be good too
