Excellent points. “Perhaps be evil” Google may not care about encryption/security of its users, but its paying customers sure as hell care about it. Does a single cent make its way to google without SSL? But this attack on privacy and self sovereignty seems to be coming from the EU. Technology might be used by bad people, so let’s “make sure” they can’t get it. 🙄
