I have a great friend who is an alcoholic. He fell off the wagon again.

He can only stay dry and away from booze for a year tops.

He's tried many methods of quitting.

Does anyone here have a novel solution to quitting the drink?

There are medications that help with alcohol cravings. Sounds like he needs this.

I will look into this

He's a manager at a dispensary. He tokes all day long.

Get him to switch to CBD definitely helps with all sorts of cravings. Perhaps he can take more balanced strains too. Also get him to take milk thistle and NAC to help prevent any damage from the drinking.

Living with a stepfather who has the same issue, for 20 years I’ve been watching how a human can change into an inhuman being just because of alcohol.

How I see it now, he is deeply unhappy and seeking love, but he only knows one way to forget about it.

I still don’t have the key to stop it, but I’ve started to show him love instead of hate, and… you know.

Now, he is kind when he drinks, it’s somewhat of a change…

Ayahuasca can be a a powerful tool for letting go of addictions.

Awesome. I will pitch it to him after some research on my behalf.

It's important to find a good group who have reverence for the medicine. It's powerful stuff.

If you're gonna consider the psychedelic route ibogaine should be considered as well. Has been very successful with addiction

From what I have heard, ibogaine is a pretty sure fire way. Very intensive.

Ayachuasca might go the bad trip way. You have to prepare days before also with the food isdue. Not a solution for everyone i think

To be clear, in my opinion Ayahuasca is only for a retreat setting with proper intentions and preperariont. It's not for everyone .

Some people just have very addictive personalities. Tough sell but finding something positive to be addicted to might help. For example I’m now addicted to Bitcoin and it’s changed everything for me. I still drink too much but I have hope, which I think is the biggest problem for addicts to overcome
