There is no historical precedent for cheaper, faster, more secure, and open technology losing to more expensive, slower, less secure, and closed technology.

While many don’t understand this yet, this time is no different.

In this case maybe better stay humble and stack sats

the whole stack is ready to annihilate their shitshow

Few

There is one. Nuclear.

1) Not open, and 2) capital cost -partly because of 1, (at least backwards looking) is prohibitive.

That is a very good point. It is pretty much the opposite of open, since fuel is unaccessible for anyone but state agents.

Try getting into Nuclear Energy technology.

Even when the RIAA brought the whole weight of the music industry in a draconian attempt to kill file-sharing, the only real losses were Napster and Limewire. File-sharing was orders of magnitude better than physical purchase & storage.

I remember the legendary Quincy Jones said a few years ago that the biggest selling album the previous year was by Taylor Swift - and it only sold 1 million copies.

“We used to sell a million in one WEEK.” he added.

🎯

good point. What do make of the scammy L2 protocols on Ethereum L2 that let people

take 50x leveraged bets on Bitcoin?

the volatility it creates to the downside for abotxpom MoE kind of sucks.

So this means #Bitcoin will lose to a cheaper, faster and more secure crypto?

For those who might not understand bitcoin, and those who may exhaust themselves trying to explain it to family and friends, I'm working on a simple solution.

If people try to explain Bitcoin, and might not understand all the technical details, I'm writing out the white paper in plain language, currently exclusive to nostr.

Feel free to share the few posts that are already out, plenty more to come.

Windows beat linux

Add up servers, desktops, and mobile phones. The Linux kernel is used wayyyyyy more.

Jeff, did you play with GPT making a version of yourself before you went full on another path? I want to try what Preston did but do not yet know how he did it.

People are too used to trusting people and institutions. Because #bitcoin is a no trust and self sovereign protocol, it goes against their values and they feel in danger.

There are plenty of engineers in the world who would argue otherwise.
