Ignorance is Strength

Mornin πŸ«‚

This is the beginning of every dystopian post nuclear war movie

Yaaaay, we're all gonna die πŸ₯Ί

Nukes dont exist, i got you covered on this one already. πŸ˜…

He shouldn't have said that exact thing however, if taken with a grain of salt, what he said contains undeniable wisdom, especially for anyone familiar with Lowery's Softwar. Lowery is an advisor to this administration and Hegseth should be up to speed on Lowery's thesis and the implications of it as far as establishing peace are concerned.

Lowery pointed out that in any attack there is a cost of attack and a benefit of attack. If you are powerful enough, you will impose too large of a cost of attack onto potential attackers relative to the benefits those attackers would gain by attacking you. This is peace through power or peace through strength.

Peace through strength, peace through power, peace through FAFO...these all would have been better than peace through war.

Softwar?

Benefit of attack?

The matrix has you πŸ«‚

Truth has me, fren. Power and Mercy are Divine traits when balanced against one another.

As an investor, you already understand this.

You have defenses set up on your site to repel anyone who does not fit your standards.

People who want your money but don't have a good idea are "attacking" your resource stockpile.

If they successfully convince you to give up some of your resources in some deal, and that endeavor produces no return, their attack has still been successful because they never had a good idea and they got your money and therefore benefitted from the "attack".

If they don't successfully convince you, they've been repelled by your defensive powers of discernment.

The problem is not that you are wrong, the problem is that you are right.

Funny that you invoked "The Matrix" which is an enlightenment allegory.

The Golden Rule is a good guide to pursue enlightenment and the essence of the Golden Rule is to lovingly tailor our interactions with one another based upon what we observe and know about one another.

This skill happened to be exactly what I practiced in my time as a math and critical thinking teacher. One of my many hats I wear is the profiler's hat. My ability to effectively reach my students depended upon my ability to take upon myself their unique perspectives and then tailor my approach to each individual in suitable ways. It's one of those "always on" skills once it is developed. If you've ever seen Criminal Minds, I've been compared to Spencer before, although I would suggest that is a pixilated model despite having accuracy to it.

The Golden Rule isn't limited to understanding the kind or the sane. That's the low hanging fruit. The challenge is to find ways to understand and love the individuals who think in ways we do not, e.g. opportunistically about "benefits of attack". Being aware of self serving thought patterns and acknowledging their existence is not condonement or an indication of participation in or attachment to those self serving thought patterns.

β€œIf you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Replace "enemy" in Sun Tzu's wisdom with "other self", replace "battle/s" with "engagement/s" or "encounter/s" or something like that and you have a non-violent corollary. Example: when walking through some parks, the park is likely to bound private, fenced, residential properties and some of those properties are likely to have a dog outside barking at people in the park. Understanding "the enemy" here, I can just hack the dog's brain and say "Good boy. Good girl. Good boy. Good girl." over and over knowing that the dog will recognize one of these phrases, it will realize that I am saying things that its owner says, its owner loves it and takes care of it, so maybe if this guy walking through the park says that same stuff, he is a friend rather than an enemy and so I don't need to bark incessantly at him because he's not a threat".

Likewise, slow, intentional, 2 eye blinks can tell animals that you trust them not to attack you while one of your best security senses is voluntarily disavailed in their immediate presence. They will often reciprocate this.

Take those animal examples and extrapolate to a human situation where a crazy person is acting in ways that are a danger to themself and at least one other innocent bystander. If you are familiar enough with how even a fucked up mind might think, you might be able to hack that person's mind and disarm the situation with words and no violence or, at the very least, less violence.

I tried a sales job 20 years ago and I hated treating people as sales leads. I felt like I was dehumanizing them. Not my thing to treat people as targets for self service. I'm interested in providing value and letting those who appreciate my work show me some love.

It’s worth listening to the book to understand what he’s referring to.

You assumed from my response that I lack knowledge! πŸ€”

Isn't that interesting?

This is good dialogue. We're seeking rhythm entrainment to get on the same frequency.

Stacking Functions is most likely right and wrong to assume you lack knowledge as that is the state for everyone. Of course it varies from person to person and subject to subject but universally we all lack knowledge. The question is what knowledge do we lack and is it applicable.

In this case, it was perhaps peak irony to tell me that the Matrix has me.

If you were to familiarize yourself with my research and the types of people interested in it, you would probably realize the irony of that Matrix statement.

Stacking Functions is a mutual and a fan of my content, whereas you and I just crossed paths for the first time yesterday (as far as I can tell) so, presumably, you're not up to speed on my research or my history or how it directly pertains to The Matrix.

I saw on your site that you're interested in world changing tech. My research builds upon the work of the guy who was the target of the American Airlines Flight 191 "accident" back in '79.

You probably will want to check out my research. Links in my bio. Optimal order is PD5 short, PD5 my chapter of the full episode, PD6 short, PD6 my chapter of the full episode, and then close all that out with Once Bitten 562 (fountain link).

So you've read it? Apologies for assuming

That's still not what I mean.

You assume I know less than the author πŸ˜‚

Have you ever shared your counterpoints to Lowery's points?

Any articles, longform posts, podcast rants, etc. on the subject?

You didn't believe my first comment.

The Matrix has you.

Your echoing the narrative you've been offered, while others are creating their own game.

There are multiple games afoot, don't play them, create your own.

I'm your Huckleberry. Check out my research.

hmm.

Divide and rule, the oldest playbook. The next big war in the gulf is loading.
