i have to take up this hobby of making and learning to use archaic weapons
the aboriginals had some neat ways of making really nasty hard sticks... in modern colloquial speech they call it a "you'll be" as in "you'll be fucked if this hits you" these things are made out of wood but they are as strong as a steel bar twice the weight
some fun stuff to do with fire and resins natural polymers making the wood as rigid as steel
Do it.
Most of the materials can be collected. It's almost all just time & skill building
yup, that's what makes it such a cool hobby... do need a few tools, but mostly just sharpening stones, axe, tomahawk, some hacksaws, knives... and lots of playing with fire i love that part the best 🔥 or in the case of the leather, well... there isn't really any animals i can do this with here on the island but i don't think it's very easy to catch me snaring rabbits, if they have nice furs... the rabbits in australia had furs that were quite nice features to make arm warmers and scarfs and suchlike, very soft, reasonably strong but not really hard wearing leather
something i intend to get into more in the coming years once i manage to find a spot to plant myself down
