We have touched upon the main issue for which I started the conversation. Your post contains an abstract rule for all occasions for all people. Therefore, it may be irrelevant to a specific situation or a specific person. I would state your thought in a different version: honor your parents if you consider it fair. In this form, we take into account the individual characteristics of the reader and leave him the freedom to make his own decisions. In the modern world, people do not accept the didactic style of religious prophets. And they are absolutely right, because abstract rules do not work.
