I guess one of my points is that the "cabinet" for men (at least for good men) is way larger than the guy in the video gives credit for.

It probably comes down to the general promiscuity we see today. There are no strong social mores pushing men in the direction of virtue in this area, so we revert back to a "wild west" of mate choice.
