cashu.me now has NFC support on Android – try it out!

To send:

- tap send, ecash, enter amount

- in the token QR screen, tap the NFC button

- touch NFC card -> token is now stored on the card 💥

To receive:

- tap receive, ecash, nfc

- touch NFC card -> boom 💥

If you install cashu.me as a PWA (which you definitely should!) you can tap the card with your Android at any time and it will prompt you to open the cashu.me wallet to receive the token. Tip: Choose to "always open with cashu.me" for a quicker UX!

All my other NFC features work fine ( use NFC with LNBits often on this)

Finally loaded. Took a couple minutes to update the site. Works. Sweet.

This is awesome.

Was able to flash a token for 21 sats to one of my implanted microchips (ntag216 fwiw) and then redeem it.

Super simple interface.

🤔This is how I think about Cashu. Please let me know if there are any errors in my understanding. 🙏

Payments on a card like this work in the opposite way of a credit card works. When you wave your credit card, you owe some bank money the bank can print for free.

With cashu, the "bank" owes you money that can't be printed for free. You wave your Cashu-powered NFC card at the payment terminal and "the bank" pays the merchant on your behalf like an instantaneous checking account.

The risk of fractional reserve still exists but is mitigated by web of trust and optionality.

I'm sure there are things I've missed, but I find this concept fascinating.
