“Small freedom” - in Canada it was far from small. And the governments were just testing how far they can push.
Discussion
I couldn't go into any restaurant, take *any plane*, even to another province to visit my family for christmas. this also means I couldn't leave BC at all for the most part, since the US border was also closed.
friends, family, and everyone was calling me a plague rat even though I got covid and was immune and didn't need the shot. wasn't sick for like 2 years after I got covid. they tried to gaslight me into "natural immunity is not enough, you need 10 boosters, you're just an ignorant hick". fuck that.
I'm supposed to just be ok with that... yeah never.
Same in Ontario- and it was breaking families! But people were subjected to war-grade propaganda. Fear and printed money.
I hope we don’t forget and keep the government accountable, but forgive people.
This I feel sorry for your freedoms you did not have during this time. In Switzerland we could just execute a covid test, proof I am negative and with this go to restaurants, clubbing and so on. Maby Switzerland is one of the most liberal countries in this respect and therefore it did not feel very unconvenient here.
But yest the polarisation of the society took also place here I have heared. In my family and friends circle, we just use to have a very open discussion culture. Therefore we may had different opinions. But I could always talk freely without being pressured in a square. I hope for those who have other experiences, that they find a way to come to peace with their friends and family again.
During the most radical months, you couldn't even go to a restaurant toilet if you didnt follow the totalitarian test/jab regime in Switzerland. Restaurants which allowed untested/unjabbed visitors were blocked off by the police. Switzerland had far from a "liberal" regime and media during the plandemic.
As you say yourself. We have had the option to vaccinate and have personal liberty. And people who do not want to be vaccinated could test themselves to have just the same liberties. So there was no discrimination. Who wants to have these liberties did have the possibility. What more liberty one is requesting during a health crisis?
Only stupid people assume, that during a crisis everything can be just the same as outside a crisis. Because if it is like this there is just no crisis. (but the health crisis was more then obvious)
One only has to look, that freedoms come to normal, when the pressure of COVID lowered as well. And I think in liberal countries they all did not go on with any limitations, that were active during COVID.
What restrictions from covid are still active in Canada?
What more proove one wants, that it was nothing more then a lie to call it a test.
Small freedoms, like being employed. Like being tested by haveing a stick crammed so far up your nose it touches your brain. People are not going to forget any time soon.
I am not saying these tests were very pleasent. But this is the questionleveryone has to resolve on his own, if it was more important to avoid such a test or more important to go to any restaurants, clubs and so on.
When you decide against testing, just do not cry about that you could not participate in something. This was a easy way that allowed participation for everyone who wanted to. When you did not want, this is ok.
