I keep hearing that bitcoin Knots is bitcoin Core with 1-2000k minor tweaks. Is there a process to know if other competent software developers have reviewed those tweaks and agree they don’t introduce security problems before the code is published?

Following... I am running an older version of core on my umbrel and considering switching to knots but I want to be sure I know what is in it..
Nearly all of the differences were proposed in Core but not included for political reasons. Knots is being unofficially reviewed. Devs are looking for anything they can find to disparage Luke. You never hear about it because there are no security problems. Knots is the real Bitcoin.
Knotts is being unofficially reviewed by who? Is the unofficial review done before code is published or after?
