I can see the logic in that moon scenario but I still reject it because it leans too much into NGU for mass appeal

Moving the BTC decimal 8 places isn’t a node thing. Nodes deal in satoshis natively and don’t even use the “satoshi” name.
The bundling of 100,000,000 sats into a BTC, the names “sats” and “BTC” are just user/wallet/exchange conventions.
We can make this change without any network/code changes at all.
