IMHO after the Russia-Ukraine war, Russia must pay reparations to rebuild the parts of Ukraine it damaged/destroyed.

IMHO after Hamas is destroyed, Israel must pay reparations to rebuild the parts of Gaza it damaged/destroyed.

In a war, it is fair to damage enemy infrastructure, but you are on the hook to rebuild it once the war is over.

There is a lot of precedent.

Germany had to pay reparations under the Treaty of Versailles, and again after WW2.

The US would have had to pay for Hiroshima/Nagasaki except that Japan waived it under the Treaty of San Francisco.

In Germany they are voting for a law today they people can lose their visa and citizenship for supporting Palestine.

Germans are now on sunk cost myth. They already killed 6 million people on the WWII, and this tells them to let mots some millions be killed, so that the 6 mm from before are not in vain.

Russia is rebuilding territories destroyed during military operation. I live relatively close by, and we already actively travel there by car (as, in fact, Ukrainians do to us). Here, of course, one can argue whether these lands are Ukraine or not, but in fact, as for me, it does not matter now, it is much more important that people reconcile and try to live a peaceful life. The names on the map will always change. Nothing lasts forever.

However, I am against Russia restoring Ukrainian territories. I believe that Ukraine can do everything by itself. They are not disabled, they need to finally become independent. Stop waiting for others to solve their problems. Throughout its short existence, Ukraine has done nothing but hope for others.
