On Android OS, there is a very useful setting I recommend. It's not new, but something I've missed since switching to GrapheneOS years ago on my main device.

If you're tired of your screen constantly dimming while you're reading something on your phone, go to:

Settings > Display & Touch > Screen Timeout, and choose "Screen attention."

This will prevent your screen from turning off if you are looking at it and will likely save more battery life than just increasing the timeout time.

LOL. 5 years of annoyance just ended. Can't believe it

I have my camera covered tho 😂😂😂

There's always a trade-off between privacy and convenience. I recommend metal slider covers that are easy to open/close as needed. CloudValley makes good ones - they're better quality than other brands I've tried. They stick well if you're reasonably mindful with phone handling, and they're inexpensive to replace as needed.

Don't let the description mislead you - they work just as well with Android as with iPhone.

Awesome... They'll likely be better than my scotch tape over paper cutout 😂

Gracias 🙏

De nada 🙏🏼

There's another option that I highly recommend, and its on all phones but almost no one ever uses it... Put a piece of tape over the camera.

can also be done with the mics, but you have to actually cover the case and usually there is one top and bottom of the phone... doesn't work to cover up the secondary holes if it's got a vinyl bumper sleeve thing like some phones have... sealing them does the trick, they become deaf to everything except bumping the case

Also a lead box or Faraday bag for when not actively using it
