Why don't you move? What's stopping you?

fear!
long answer:
a dog -- not my dog, but a dog in my current household loves me
public amenities like the library and swimming pool
biking -- not as many bike lanes there and less respect bicyclists/pedestrians
hiking -- public park land is everywhere in US, harder to find in countries like El Salvador
having actually lived in many other places, actually there is a lot of areas you can just roam around in very often, most parts of the balkans there were hiking tracks and forests and parks, but the language thing is not easy... having said that, spanish is probably one of the easiest languages to learn, as it's really close to english in its grammar and many of its latin roots
personally, i don't want to ever live in a city anywhere ever again... i mean, out of all the cities i've lived in, probably Sofia was the best and Sarajevo was runner up but my most fond memories in strange places have been rural or semi-rural
there is always land that is unsuitable for urbanisation or agriculture or industry everywhere, too slopy, too high altitude, too rocky, everywhere, but you often don't see it mentioned in information about the places... i remember walking through some amazing semi-wilderness parkland in italy in several areas both in the north and south of the country
the other side to this is whatever your job is, if you are stuck in a location for the work, you have to have savings to make a transition to elsewhere
i'm right now in this position, but i got into a semirural area and i've integrated pretty well with the local people but i do want to go somewhere colder, more high up, and where english is the first language, and i don't want to even have as many people around me as i have now, i'd rather barely even hear their vehicles in the distance let alone not even that, if possible
that takes a lot of organising and planning, so, i think it's not just fear but not enough time or priority for the change, and not enough savings
the most evil thing about the fiat system is how it steals savings, and the most beautiful thing about bitcoin is how it gives it back
oh yeah, i almost had forgotten about this but one time in northern italy i was in this mountain area, and i spied a hill and not sure what made me think i should go there but i walked some track over to it and found a grotto, a small cave, under the peak of the hill, and there was space for me to start a fire to keep warm and all... it was awesome, truly an experience
The key is the choice! You go where you want to go
Love it
All totally valid!
