Would you support an AI running the government?
In this scenario all planning / support positions that can be eliminated would get instantly eliminated. With many more possibly gone quickly.
Assume the most “fair” AI. Won’t go into details of how that’s determined but just imagine we picked the best one for the position.

I mean, at this rate, yes. If it can keep us in line better, I'd support it.
Nope. Just reduce the government so there's just border control and policing laws. AI not needed in that world, just a noose in case anyone tries to increase government scope
I am not supporting any government
No. Humanity has proven time and again, it can’t be trusted to control and exercise authority ourselves. It is somewhat naive to believe we’re capable of inventing a technology to do so.
We can’t control and manage systems and algorithms we’ve built and designed. Unable to ensure they are free of corruption and unintended consequences. How one could possibly think that somehow an “machine” is going to do it any better.

Well, obviously, the devil would be in the deails of what is "fair". Though, I get why we can't go into the details of how that would be determined - because the world would never be able to agree on those details.
Personally, I would argue the only objectively "fair" goverment would have to be no government (and I'm not even necessarily suggesting that's what I would want).
I'll just ignore the false authority like I always do.
Because of the way AI works and is trained, it can never be perfectly fair, so this is an unrealistic scenario.
Also, anywhere power accumulates, parasites will show up. Best to avoid any kind of centralized control.
