the funny thing is about servers, every fucking server goes down at some point. what's your cluster services looking like, PH? we are going to make sure this does not happen again and do clustering in the future.

Or cache to a CDN.
CDN would have solved this 5 minute outage, but our JSON changes constantly and probably wouldn't work with the frequency of new registrations. We'd have to constantly be expiring cache or tell customers to wait an hour or whenever the cache expires to see their new ID. I'd rather use clustering.
As long as users don't change their name all the time.. a CDN could cache the requests fairly easily without having to expire frequently.. a new user would be a cache miss and then get populated on the fly from the origin.. but ya start easy then later decide. You'll need cloudflare anyway if you get too much attention in the future š
