It might become irrelevant in a few years. But I like it.
If anything won’t it become even more relevant as the fiat price of BTC goes up? Transactions will tend to require fewer and fewer sats

yeah, it's a unit in the protocol, and yes it can't be settled on chain currently but it's such a small extra thing (literally 10 more bits) that inevitably the denomination will be upgraded... when 1sat=$1 for sure... maybe in 8-12 years time it will become a pressing need

Of course, CLN allows this "0.012sat" everywhere msat amounts are valid!
