Ah if only he were still around. I just started reading Pirate Enlightenment, which is fascinating. This line in particular, I think, is relevant here:

It is incredible how this ideas are demonized and misrepresented.
I repeated the same propaganda too until I accidentally discovered that some issues that bothered me for years, like the self-reinforcing rent seeking where already analyzed by Marx 150 years ago, long before it was so extremely obvious.
