I left my career as a CPA in 2021 after a deep dive #bitcoin.
Bitcoin/AI will make the accounting industry basically obsolete imo.

I use hledger, which is format compatible, I believe.
There’s a ledger format plug-in for Visual Studio Code too.
yeah hledger is the same thing but in written in Haskell. I remember using that at one point but ended up writing my own one thats simpler (at least for the usecase i had) https://github.com/jb55/ledger-simple

Accounting is the art of explanation, accounting for WHY did value go from A to B? Was it a purchase, a loan, a loan payback, a transfer, etc.
Bitcoin doesn't do accounting. There is no accounting for why sats moved from one address to another.
Not ironic. It's automating something that's drudgery.
But Bitcoin does it right, and on a true scale without 3rd party which could manipulate the sheet manually.
