I can't remember ever ridiculing it but it took me about 5 years to actually figure out what it was.

Ignored for at least 5 and then ridiculed for 1 or 2

I was immediately sold on the idea when I first heard of it in 2013.

Should have started mining when I heard about it in like mid 2009.
