iPhone 17 includes MIE (memory integrity enforcement) which uses ARM Enhanced Memory Tagging Extension (EMTE) which together close most of the existing attack scenarios for operating system and apps.

In short, if you’re a high-value target it does make sense to upgrade to iPhone 17, preferably in Lockdown Mode.
