Was about to buy a new watch.

Took a deep breath, let my low time preference come out and bought Bitcoin instead.

Congrats. I love watches too. Dreaming of a Panerai and Rolex. Could easily afford them but Bitcoin taught me better.

Take a look in 4 years...

In the meantime, there's always Seiko πŸ˜‰

Already have a watch portfolio/safety net so I’m good. Rest goes into Bitcoin

I was so close to using my stimmy checks to help buy an Omega. That or a Rolex is something I would like someday.

Instead I found Bitcoin in β€˜21 and started my journey. Years from now I may trade some Sats for watch, but for now it’s stay humble, stack sats, and zap zaps⚑️

Nothing wrong with saving/investing in watches. They are proof of work goods and can be like a savings account that isn’t volatile and a safety net for you. I mean this instead of your fiat savings. Definitely not instead of Bitcoin.

+ you can enjoy them

Great replay. One day I will probably get a nice watch, but not today. I must continue to practice low time preference 🫑

Good call.

It’s amazing how Bitcoin can change someone’s spending and saving habits

I have two respectable watches.

They both have a story behind them. I bought my TAG for cash out of the box off a Russian diplomats son who was gifted the watch from his father for college graduation.

He needed the cash to go on a cruse with his girlfriend.

Have some too.

I see them as a savings account/safety net instead of fiat savings. + you can enjoy them.

Always beautiful to hear some watch stories.

Truth is besides the tiny little name on the dial, some aesthetics only appreciable up close and a few seconds accuracy (maybe) or charm of excellent mechanical (still not as accurate and quartz), they’re a money hole.

I bought a sapphire crystal-lensed 24k gold accented Bering that people cream over β€” super elegant β€” and it was only maybe €150. Keeps time like a champ and looks better than the vast majority of people’s watches in the room. A win.

Nothing wrong with that and the love and story for your watch is the most important thing.

Besides that I am a watch enthusiast and also like to save in them. See it as a savings account instead of fiat savings. Highly liquid as a safety net and if you buy right, you never lose fiat value on it

Best decission

That’s the gift of timeβ€¦πŸ€˜

Stack those watches during the bull season
