Noticing a big advertisement push for WhatsApp both on the TV and the Internet "Not even WhatsApp can see your personal messages, they're protected with end-to-end encryption"

The sceptic in me smells a rat ๐Ÿคจ. Between Zuckerberg & Thiel - the government will have every word you've ever typed on an electronic device in their new "Master Database"

The & big for both a personal me Zuckerberg even

Never trust any app that says it can do "end-to-end encryption," if you analyze the words themselves it's clear after a moment of thinking there's no way for an app to do it

why can't an app do that?

Calling it an app suggests it can run on many systems

It can't really stop the user's OS or hardware from watching what they do on their screen or even hijacking their keys

yes, spyware OS and hardware must be avoided

I assume that means all OS and hardware

But the better the security is, the fewer people can bypass it and the more risky it might be for them to attack

Can we not even trust Meredith & Signal? Although I wouldn't trust my phone - the place that displays all the data un encrypted, privacy sometimes feels unachievable when talking about electronic devices that connect to the Internet or even air gapped devices with that PowerHammer malware stuff ๐Ÿฅด

I don't know about Meredith but I wouldn't trust Signal or my phone ๐Ÿค™

An air gapped wallet with hand written (or hand-hole-punched) data transfers should be pretty safe
