Random thoughts, observations, shit posting and things I'm doing.

The beach and sea level at a place I used to go as a kid is the same today but people like Al Gore made hundreds of millions selling the man-made climate change hoax.

Heart rate seems a bit high but hadn't eaten for 14 hrs (7pm night before) and conditions are still near zero, ice on the ground wearing shorts so I guess your body works a bit harder to keep you warm.

2:01:50 for the half marathon, might try eating a banana or something before next time see if it makes a difference but like the empty stomach sensation tbh.

Still massively impressed by people that can do full 26 mile marathons!

1919 calories burnt on an empty stomach and still haven't got a 6 pack, never had one or at least never seen it πŸ˜‚ 6ft 164lb

How many dudes got a bit insecure about pull-ups when they saw that 71yr old RFK Jr could do 20?

πŸ™‹Guilty πŸ˜‚

Either it's something you train or you're a rock climber and can probably do loads with ease anyway.

Set a bar up, best dead hang so far is 3 minutes totally still no cheating by twisting or swinging around, up to 7 pull-ups so far.

Although there were English & Scots in the WSM final I was actually happy that Rayno Nel won and was kind of rooting for him tbh, fairly new to the sport but smashed it on a few of the events beating the favourites and ex winners of the title.

First πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦ South African (And whole of Africa) to win the title and the guy still had a full-time job and trained Strongman part time. Eddie Hall has made a nice career for himself (TV, YouTube, Social Media, Sponsorships, Appearances etc) after winning the title, hopefully this guy can do the same.

Dusting of snow and ice on the ground when I got up but it didn't look too windy until I hit certain stretches of the run that felt like running into an icey headwind that kicked my ass, stopped the watch and started walking at 13.8 miles, a bit πŸ’© tbh and felt like I'm getting worse not better 🀷 Forced myself to do some sporadic running totalling another 2.2 miles in between walking as I had to get home anyway.

Total ran about 16 miles, 9.35/mi Avg, the only positive is that my average cadence had increased to 161 spm as it's my understanding runners should aim for 160-180 spm, I was wearing running shorts in the cold but my knees were fine.

These stats will be poor to experienced runners but I only started the 2nd half of last year.

It's making the cattle ill, some cows are collapsing and dying, do you want us to keep adding Bovaer to the feed Mr Gates?

Of course, we need to tackle man made climate change and my money has infiltrated the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), UK Food Standards Agency (FSA), and US FDA so it's been deemed safe to use.

You can pick up a new Garmin Forerunner 55 watch for about Β£120, it's one of their entry level models but will do pretty much everything you need, the GPS syncs okay and there's no need to take your phone out on a run as the run data can be transferred to your Garmin App when you get back.

The only thing missing on this model is a metronome to help you keep your cadence but it will give you your average when you are finished, in my case the average was 158spm which is a bit low but I was struggling a bit tbh after sitting on my arse stuffing my face and drinking chemical laced lager over Christmas so the uphill sections had me blowing a bit.

Once you get a watch you start getting pissed off if you can't cross a busy road as you're conscious of the timer still ticking while you wait for a gap in the traffic.

This is f**ked up!

Some will say it doesn't matter because alcohol is poison anyway while others will say it's just cost cutting and a symptom of capitalism and greed, but it starts to look more and more like eugenics to me being orchestrated by sick and twisted creeps like Bill Gates "Let's see how many working class people we can kill off with cancer by putting antifreeze chemicals in Carling"

Ale in Medieval times was low-alcohol and nutritious, often called liquid bread and contained protein, vitamins, minerals, and calories from the malt, had no preservatives so was brewed fresh every week or few days.

We really do live in a sick society where everything is being poisoned, can you even trust anything sold in supermarkets?

LA & Miami bros like racing supercars while on their Kawasaki H2Rs or Hayabusas with extended swing arms but these late 80s early 90s 2 strokes still do it for me, these Suzuki RG500s are becoming classics now and going for about Β£20k on Ebay.

Maybe it's the sound and the smell and as modern vehicles become loaded with more electronic driving aides people will long for the older raw experience.

Gym bros love to focus on how much someone can benchpress and often quote ridiculous figures for a minimum that an adult male should be able to achieve. At the end of the day you're either naturally a big lump of a dude or you're someone who has trained and built up to bigger weight.

I remember watching WSM a few years ago when Mikhail Koklyaev turned up on the Strongman scene and coming from an Olympic weightlifting background had never trained benchpress, he even turned up in his wooden heel weightlifting shoes 😁.

Each to their own and any form of working out is better than sitting on the sofa eating crap but I can't see the appeal of being some meathead wearing a triple ply bench shirt and becoming that immobile you can hardly reach your own ass to wipe it.

Most dudes like me probably grew up on Schwarzenegger action movies and Pro Wrestling and always thought bigger muscles were better or having them makes you "hard" but once you grow up you learn that a guy's chances of winning a fight hinge more on how much he's trained to fight vs how big his muscles are.

Probably more impressed nowadays with stories of how GSP used to train gymnastics when he was in UFC, Diaz brothers doing triathlons or Goggins being able to run long distances but still maintain enough muscle mass to lift more weight than most people.

Most people are probably already aware and know all about soft shell and hard shell jackets but if you didn't, these Microlight Alpine Down jackets are useless when in rains.

Got absolutely drenched yesterday out on the bike, it was only spitting when I left but it got worse the further I got from home, gloves were soaked, trousers drenched and sticking to my legs, shoes and socks squelching, jacket and tshirt soaked right through - all insulation value gone, surface water spraying off my tyres like a sprinkler, cold, windy, numb fingers and toes, another 26 miles to get home.

Got back and struggled to undo a buckle or get my shoes off as my fingers were too numb, unpleasant but not serious, makes you think about people who have got into trouble by gallivanting off ill-prepared on expeditions into the wilderness with the wrong gear and lacking survival skills.

I recall watching one of those Mountain Men programmes on Discovery where a guy called Marty would fly solo in a small single propeller aeroplane deep into remote parts of Alaska for trapping, on one episode his old snowmobile brokedown and he had to hike back to his cabin in well below zero conditions, he noted that one of the most dangerous things he could do was get too hot and start sweating, presumably because insulation is trapped air and getting it wet collapses it, wet layers wick away your body heat and the moisture can also freeze.

Me trying to undo a buckle with cold hands in above zero conditions is just a small insight into what it would be like for someone hiking in a remote location and falling through thin ice and getting soaked, if they got out and hypothermia started to set in, how long before their hands weren't even functioning properly to try and light a fire or change into dry stuff if they have any?

7pm 🍽️ boiled potatoes, boiled egg, can of tuna in tomato & herb sauce and sourdough toast, tea milk no sugar.

9am β˜• coffee no sugar, drink of water

9:30 -12:30 (no sports watch but under 3hr)17.5 mile jog, don't take anything with me as it's winter, no warm ups or stretching just start off steady.

Let' call it 10:10–10:17 mins per mile, checked the average for NY marathon and it's 10:21/mile, Overall (4:31:31), 26 miles.

Pleased that I managed to keep moving for 17.5 miles but thought the pace was a bit crap when people can average 10:21/mile for 26 miles - a distance I've never jogged before, Mo Farah is running 4:46 minutes a mile πŸ˜‚

Just been doing 2 runs a week for about a few months, never really ran before, tried it once in the past and hurt my knees due to poor/no technique - head down, leaning forward from the waist, feet dragging, no butt kick ❌🫣

Swapped bread for (genuine) sourdough bread but still not consuming too much bread.

Drastically reduced the dried/rehydrated fruit raisins, cranberries, figs, trail mix sugar bomb.

Swapped cashews for walnuts, almonds and pumpkin seeds.

Didn't realise Honey is actually high when it comes to FODMAP, replaced with Maple Syrup.

Upped boiled rice and potatoes that then get cooled in the fridge for at least 24hrs (forms resistant starch)

Cold rice can be used sweet or savoury, such as add yoghurt, blueberries, banana, nuts, teaspoon of Ceylon Cinnamon. Or just rice with tuna, meat, eggs.

Used to think eggs upset my guts but it was the sugars mixed with the eggs.

Chilled potato cubes can be eaten cold/salad or quickly fried in olive oil/butter.

Avoiding fatty or processed meat in the evening as prone to waking up the next day with a headache (histamine? nitrates?)

Still eat a few biscuits, some cheese, dark chocolate and milk in tea & coffee but if you struggle with your guts - you should definitely look into that FODMAP stuff.

When you live in the UK and can only arm yourself with a pocket knife with a blade length under 3" and non locking but you're browsing guns and set your heart on a Sig MCX-RATTLER LT with flashlight/laser combo and subsonic hollow-point/expanding loads to avoid collateral damage during home defence.

Also on the shopping list, a 'get off me' concealed hammer . 38 special stubby revolver with some +P ammo for extra kick, again hollow point.

Hey everyone's got an AR πŸ˜‚

People love to broadcast their physical achievements on social media when they've smashed a pr or they upload their run data but what about their failures?

Chose a route today for a steady pace run/jog 17.5 miles, made it about 14 miles and just hit a wall, walked a bit and then tried running again but just had no spring left in my legs even if I tried to force them.

Hadn't eaten since 7.30pm the night before and then it was only rice and fish, according to Grok you can train your body to run distance on empty but I guess my muscles just aren't used to it, maybe I still would've flopped even If I was fueled up?

No way I could run a full 26 mile marathon yet.

πŸƒ Hardly David Goggins but did a 14 mile run today, could've done more energy wise but my lower back is bad which starts to cause hip tilt and can load the knees after running that long, no chance of bending down when I get back.

Between Grok & YouTube it sounds like even people with lower back/disc issues can overcome this by strengthening your core and glutes with bird dog, dead bug, glute raises and some Mckenzie stretches to decompress.

Dialling in running technique is an important factor as well, running tall, heel kick, lean from the ankles not the waste etc.

Not uncommon to do 40 - 50 miles on the bike 🚴 but same happens again, too long sat on it and my lower back starts to scream, get home look in the mirror and my hips pelvis look lop sided (hip tilt) Supposedly it's your body's way of trying to protect your disc and nerves by pushing the spine to one side to avoid further aggravation but the imbalance loads up and stresses other stuff like your si joint.

Stay humble and stack sats - just not on Avalanche though because Yield Yak will put your BTC.b to work on Silo Finance and take on exposure to xBTC which has just gone bad.

BTC.b withdrawals disabled on Yield Yak because they can't retrieve it from Silo Finance.

The same people that are having the Galloways arrested under terrorism charges, presumably for going to Russia are the same people that are currently fawning over Jolani (An ISIS head chopper whose Takfiri gangs are still slaughtering and terrorising Syrians)

Would recommend, fresh out the box never worn and jogged 12 miles with no chaffing or blisters, the Β£20 a pair socks maybe a bit exuberant but was feeling frivolous.

Can't comment on how long there'll last, if they fall apart I'll give some La Sportiva's a try as found their walking trainers really hard wearing.

Free if you don't mind the odd nettle sting and bramble scratch, and they haven't been sprayed with anything unless it's geoengineering related and fallen from the sky.

People on the Internet will be adamant that weed is totally harmless and stoner culture is cool, maybe it is harmless to people with no history of mental health issues in their family genes? Everyone probably thought this "Pretty Glonky" guy was the most chilled out harmless stoner you could ever meet, I thought the video was funny as well.

Turns out his real name is Kyle Andrew Braun and he's currently in prison awaiting a attempted murder trial - the victim his own mother!!! The Police found her with a kitchen knife stuck in her head and Pretty Glonky was the guy who plunged it into her.

Was the weed or whatever other drugs he took to blame for his mental health issues or did they just exacerbate them? Who knows?

Watched a video clip of Bob Marley the other day talking about "herb" and how it gives you time to think, I was kind of sold tbh at the thought of loafing around in the hills of Jamaica away from all the hustle & bustle surrounded by greenery. IRIE MAN.

All i'll say is if someone want to smoke weed they should wait until they're an adult, taking drugs as a kid/teen is bad news while the brain/mind is developing imho.

And make sure you only carry a non locking knife with a blade length under 3" when you go camping. Even a Leatherman is "illegal" to carry πŸ˜‚

Anyone else got to the stage where they don't know what to eat anymore and it feels like our digestive systems are under attack from chemical preservatives, additives, modern farming and food production procedures or has my body just got to the stage where it says "nope"

I was reading up about bread the other day and how ancient wheat varieties like Einkorn, Emmer, Spelt were more nutrient dense and "had different gluten composition, often considered to be more digestible and less likely to cause gut issues or sensitivities compared to modern wheat"

Starting to think my body isn't feeling gluten, usually wake up feeling like crap often with a headache which sometimes clears but other times is full blown and worsens in my forehead and in the back of my neck, started to wonder if it's gluten related and always suspected there was a connection to the gut.

Just scrolling through social media and seeing everyone posting food pictures I'm like "nope!" Yeah, could eat it but what would it do when passing through my system, broccoli & tough leafy greens etc high in insoluble fibre yet everyone opines "eat your greens"

Kinda drives you mad though when it all seems hit & miss and often without rhyme nor reason, if only it was a simple as avoid XY & Z foods

The state of my lower back and what possible effects that's having on my nervous and digestive system is a whole other can of worms.

What are the white blocks for against the mitre saw fence?

OK I've got no problem admitting I was wrong & was a fool for calling Max Blumenthal a prick, I was a sucker for believing all the drain the swamp bullshit - turns out Trump was the swamp! But I'm sensing Bongino can't handle selling his soul!!! 🎷

Not a lot to see but this is what's left of Codnor Castle in Derbyshire, said to be built in the late 12th century (1170 - 1190). In the UK there's a archaeology TV show and they filmed an episode here back in 2007, a Henry V gold noble coin was discovered when they excavated the moat area. You can see why they chose this location to build it.

The same Government bodies that were having record store owners arrested for selling 2 Live Crew albums to kids πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Pretty sure my cousin still has all his Mean Machines magazines that my auntie used to buy him from a newsagents called Lewis Meesons (since long shutdown) probably all in near mint condition along with his Sega Mega-cd and all its original packaging, full autism πŸ˜‚

Can't recall that many games from that machine but remember a Tetris blocks type game called Columns but most memorable was Night Trap as I think it may have been one of the first video games to play like an interactive movie with cut scenes, probably wasn't even that fun to play but novel for the times.

Looking on Wikipedia, Night Trap along with Mortal Kombat were the focus of the 1993–94 United States Senate hearings on video games πŸ˜‚

This Yucca looks a bit crap most of the year with brown marks on a lot of the leaves but puts on a pretty impressive display when it flowers.

How do you convince family members to stop using shit like Facebook & WhatsApp when you know we're having our privacy raped and our lives are being farmed by these companies but they don't seem to care?

The metal rod was from the mechanism of an up & over garage door and the other pieces were scraps so I guess you could consider this junksculpting, the wheelbarrow was given a coat of Hammerite and concreted in the ground just as an ode to a deceased relative who was a builder. πŸ§±βš’οΈπŸͺπŸͺ¦
