I have an Antminer S9i running BraiinsOS+ that I want to use to heat my apartment with but I obv don’t want too much noise. Does anyone have any tips to configuring/underclocking the miner to run more silently? I don’t care if it’s running at a net loss. Just want to heat my home and maybe earn some sats while doing so.

I’m a complete noob when it comes to this shit so bear with me

Thanks but just as I wrote this, the miner stopped running and the PSU fan started making clicky noises 👀

well, there's a good chance that you could have a fan that needs replacement. these things are 5+ years old. And most of them have been through hell. I've replaced some fans in mine.

did you take it apart and clean it all out?

No but I need to do that it seems. Just got to figure out which fans to buy.

I followed #[4] setup with 140mm noctuas and the small noctua for the psu. is working like a charm. its not putting out as much heat as i would have wanted but very quiet.
