Using Amethyst, I just tried to zap someone and got the "User doesn't have a wallet set up" message." I chose for the "Send them a message" option. Then I get a window about gift-wrapped messages, and how I need to make sure the recipient's client can handle that feature. The two options given after that are "Never display this message again" and "Activate!". Which is an odd combination for multiple reasons, but that's a separate issue.

If I activate it, am I no longer able to send and receive with clients that don't gift-wrap their messages? What about Mastodon users, (since this non-zappable DJ is a Mastodon-user-appearing-in-Nostr)?

The introduction to this feature is very confusing.

i still can't see anything about this new feature in coracle yet, it must not be in production deployment yet.

amethyst is too buggy and i just simply refuse to put social media back on my phone, i don't want any reason to have to pick it up if possible. even, right now, getting a little cranky that the nostr network has various states of sync with my profile and still people are zapping to my WoS on my phone.

Unless you know it’s another Amethyst user, there’s no guarantee they’ll ever see your message.

It seems like a "Turn on forever, or never use it." feature. I'm thinking if I turn it on, none of my P/DM's will work (except with updated Amethyst users). However, the outcome of activation is not clear.
