Went for my Monday run. It includes some sprints.

When you’re 53 and in the habit, it’s not the sprinting that’s hard, it’s the sprinting for 100 meters.

You get to 30 or 40 at full speed, and you feel good. But around 50 or 60, you’re like “fuck, I have to keep this going for a lot longer.”

And it’s not like Usain Bolt knocking it out in under 10 seconds. This takes a full 15 seconds.

But as you walk home from the track, you realize you had to do it.

There was no other way out of the mind and into reality.

is there some other way? I tried running but my legs hurt

there are many ways, but they pretty much all involve physical discomfort

Pleasure & pain seem to be necessary ingredients of life. Imo, good to experience them on one's own terms when possible 😉
